"If you look at the word, "volunteer", you will not find the letter "i" but rather the letter "u".  I think that's there for a reason.  When I leave the shelter after my shift, I realize that it is not about "me" but about the "yous" that are in an unfortunate spot in their lives and need extra care.  I'm glad that I can be a part of that care."
Linda Eldridge, FCWFS volunteer

"I had never really volunteered anywhere because I didn’t want to give up any of my free time, but being at the shelter has shown me the importance of giving back to the community. I’ve been able to build relationships with people that otherwise, might not have crossed my path and the experience has been enriching and rewarding.. I love that spending time at the shelter has become part of my weekly routine, and that I have been able to effect positive change. I truly feel that I have benefitted as much as the women and families I’m helping."
Morgan Lovitt, FCWFS volunteer

"Volunteering at the shelter is like sharing an evening with new girlfriends."

Frances Greene, FCWFS volunteer
